Quest: The Witch's Apprentice. Grizelda the Hag is located in some ruins, just to the right off the road that runs between Britain and Yew. To obtain her quest, visit the hag and 'talk' to her by left clicking on her (2d) or shift right click (KR).



She will ask you to find what has happened to her missing apprentice who has disappeared along the road between where she is located and the Yew Cemetery.  Head to the west, back to the road, then follow it up until you find her apprentice. He may be anywhere along the road so make sure you stick to it. It appears as tho he has met with some misfortune. Once you find him, click on his body and you will be asked to report back to the Hag.



The Hag believes that the Imp Zeefzorpul has taken her list of magic brew ingredients off her apprentice and will now require you to retrieve it from him so she may continue with her brew making. She is not sure where he is located so asks you to 'visit' his imp mates and 'rough them up some' til one of them squeals and reveals his secret location.  You must then head off and kill a few imps, one of whom will beg for mercy and give you a map to the location of Zeefzorpul, and a whistle to blow to make him come out from hiding.



You must then click on the map and go to the location marked and 'blow the whistle' to get him to appear. There are 20 different locations where he may be hiding. I have named the maps into recognisable 'mark names' so you should name any runes you mark to match the name given on the map pages for future reference. It is much easier if you 'print' out the maps and keep them handy for when doing the quest. The maps for these locations are located here:

Once you find him he will toss you back the list he stole from the apprentice but swoop down and steal your magic flute from your pack! You must now return to the Hag with the list.

The Hag is pleased you have returned her Magic Brew Recipe, however will not give you your reward as she states that the recipe is useless unless she has an apprentice to get the ingredients, so tells you that you need to collect the ingredients for her before any reward will be given. In each quest she will ask you to collect 3 items which vary from quest to quest.

It is worthwhile getting a 'Hag Quest Kit' together, prior to heading out and to use when doing repeat quests. This kit should contain the following items:



2 x Runebooks containing runes to mark as you do quests
A shovel
A dagger or blade
A tricorne hat
An empty glass pitcher
A spyglass
A holiday timepiece or clock

The ingredients you will need to collect will be three of the following, (I have included the locations I mark to obtain these items but you may use any location that ingredients may be found in):

Chicken Gizzards - farmyard  in North Jhelom Island
Rabbits Foot, Deer Heart, Mongbat Wings - in the forest nth/east of New Haven
Rat's Tails - Ratmen in Ice Dungeon
Frogs Legs, Swamp Water - Hoppers Bog (swamp in Lost Lands, use pitcher and target swamp for water)
Slime Ooze - Slimes in entrance to Fire Dungeon.
Bones from a Hallowed Grave & Spirit Essence - Moonglow Cemetery, (mark outside the fence near a grave that maybe targeted with a shovel for digging, kill wraiths and ghouls for essence.)
Sheep Liver - Yew sheep farm
Lizard's Tongue - Level 1 Despise Dungeon
Freshly Cut Mushroom - outside Hag ruins, small red mushroom on ground, cut with dagger.
Star Chart - click the spyglass, if it is night it will get the chart, if it is day you will need to wait until nightfall, use the timepiece or clock to check the time.
Captain Blackheart's Whiskey - He is located in the 'Pirate's Plunder' Tavern in Buccaneer's Den. If you just talk to him he will not give you the ingredients you need, he will require you to 'Look' the part and have a belly full of whiskey! Purchase 6 x Pitchers of Liquor off the NPC in the tavern and drink the lot, then put on your tricorne hat and then talk to him.

The Star Chart or Captain Blackheart's Whiskey will always be the last of the three items needed if you are required to obtain them. Once you have collected your three ingredients return to the Hag for your reward.



The reward will always be between 2-2600 gold, a witch's cauldron, a bottle of magical moonfire brew, a treasure map, an item (armor or weapon, normally junk) and 30 of each mage reagent.  If you had to do the whiskey as part of your quest you will also receive a hangover cure which may be used over and over again and is a handy item to keep at home. You will also gain in 'sacrifice' virtue by doing this quest, so it is a way to gain this virtue without needing to sacrifice your fame.
