To donate items to the library, which is needed to obtain any of the rewards available here and also to complete the 'Humility Quest' for the cloak of Humility, you will need to become a 'Friend of the Library'. This quest needs to be completed by EACH character on an account if you wish to donate items with that character.



To start the quest, double click on Verity the Librarian, located in the Britain Library (see map) and she will offer you a quest chain called 'Friends of the Library'. The first part of this chain will be to take the Library Application Form to Sarakki the Notary, located just outside and south a screen from the library to have it notarised. Accept the quest and you are on your way.

Head to Sarakki and she will offer you the next part of the quest chain called 'Bureaucratic Delay'. She is all out of 'sealing wax' to notarise documents with so will ask you to 'take matters into your own hands and retrieve her some from Petrus the Bee Keeper'. Accept this quest.



Petrus is located in Ilshenar.  You will need to go to Compassion Moongate then head east. Petrus is located behind some rock walls north of a Gypsy Camp through a small opening in the rocks (see map). Once you arrive at him he will present you with the next part of the chain. He will tell you he requires 'poison sacs' off speckled scorpions which have a 1 hour timer on them. The scorpions are located in the desert near where he is. Accept the quest and head back the way you came, south past the Gypsy Camp and through another opening in the rocks. Head east along the wall and south until you come to a bridge, cross this onto the small island which has undead creatures inside and exit using the other bridge to the south.  You will find yourself in the desert.

 

The scorpions you need to kill are labelled as 'speckled scorpions' as opposed to giant or normal scorpions.  Not all the speckled ones have a poison sac so you will need to kill them until you obtain 5 for Petrus. This area has a lot of spawn including efreets, wyverns, imps, ratmen, harpies and gargoyles all of which may be paragons so be careful.  Once you have your sacs return to Petrus, either by recalling out and going from the moongate or by running back via the way you came from him originally. (Note: You CAN trade these poison sacs to the character who is doing the quest, so for crafter characters it is probably wise to collect the sacs with another character better equipped to kill spawn. You just need to ensure the timer on them doesn't run out.)  Toggle the poison sacs as quest items and speak to Petrus again, he will give you some sealing wax to return to Sarakki.



Once you return to Sarakki, toggle the wax as a quest item, speak to her and she will notarise your application and tell you to head back to Verity in the Library.

Verity will accept your application and give you a Talisman called 'Friend of the Library Token'. This talisman does not need to be worn to donate items, you just have to have actually obtained it once on the character you wish to donate with. You only need to do the quest the first time you wish to donate.
